AMERICANCER can only ever become a movement with your help.

Here are the steps to making that happen:

VOTE

We are in a terrible situation in this country. We feel helpless, and lost. We don't know what we can do to make a difference. The goal of AMERICANCER is to unite the minority, and create long-standing change. But we also have to create as much short-term change as possible as well. The only weapon we have in our arsenal right now is our vote. So please, vote BLUE in all the upcoming elections. Encourage all your friends and family to do the same. This administration will not be easily defeated, just like any cancer.

And just like any cancer, the solution is strength, will-power, perseverance, and LOVE.

So if you love yourself, your freedom, and your country, VOTE. Or next time you may find yourself without the option.

BECOME AN AMERICANCER ARTIST

Our goal is to create a movement of artists across the country, by encouraging them to create and share anti-administration artwork. The goal here is to create a dialogue where we can create social change.

As artists, we can do this by depicting the social injustices that plague our country as a result of the divisive agenda of the current administration.

As artists, we can create a snapshot of our own experience, that resonates with others.

Changing the way people think is hard, if not impossible.

But changing the way they FEEL is easy. That is our gift, as artists. There has never been a more important time to use that gift.

So please take ownership of AMERICANCER, and create powerful art that depicts all the terrible things happening in our society every day. And SHARE it with the hashtag #AMERICANCER. And encourage every artist in your life to do the same, regardless of their chosen medium. United, we can change the world, one mind at a time.

SHARE AN AMERICANCER SURVIVOR STORY

Another goal is to expand the movement, by sharing survivor stories of abuse, of people from all walks of life. As artists, we are all marginalized, and oppressed.

By encouraging survivors of abuse, misogyny, racism, and bigotry to share their stories under the AMERICANCER name, we are creating a common thread amongst the oppressed. By hearing these stories, we are creating a culture of empowerment within the minority. We are acknowledging the fact that almost every woman we know has been a victim of abuse #metoo, almost every person of color has exerienced racism #blacklivesmatter, and almost every homosexual has been made to feel less American, and less human, by the AMERICANCER that plagues this country, fueled by the Trump administration #onepulse.

Artists, women, people of color, homosexuals, and every other marginalized subculture within this society must band together as the minority.

And then become the majority.

HOLD AN AMERICANCER EVENT

The dialogue we are fostering needs a place to live. AMERICANCER events are essentially art shows, where AMERICANCER artwork can be viewed and disussed. They can be as simple as a projection of the original AMERICANCER art piece by Gary Adrian Randall, projected onto a wall with accompanying discussion, or a full-on art show with many AMERICANCER pieces, a black and white theme, and a panel of survivor stories.

The goal of AMERICANCER is to expand, and become a movement of artists, galleries, and minorities from all over. Since the beginning of this dark political time, artists have been the only ones brave enough to tell the truth (comedians, specifically, like Kathy Griffin, Chelsea Handler, Trevor Noah, and the entire cast of SNL). We keep that momentum going by joining all artists, from all mediums, together.

We unite ourselves, then unite with others based on the common thread we all share; a deep-seated, painful understanding of what it is like to live on the fringes of society, not have access to the basic rights that we pay taxes for, and live in fear of our safety, in a country that was supposed to be built to keep us safe.

AMERICANCER events are the keystone to bringing us all together in a physical space. For more info on how to throw an AMERICANCER event, click HERE.
